Like many folk, I prefer the oldschool left aligned start menu like in Win7/8 and currently use the very affordable software "StartAllBack" to accomplish this. I've used it for about two weeks since I upgraded to a 12th gen Intel build. You can easily resume ongoing Office files from Start menu under Recommended section, or any recently modified files in there and it will show up on all your devices with MSA signed in.īetter touch keyboard on Windows 11 than on horrible Windows 10. ![]() You can disable Aero Shake feature if you wish in Windows 11, which isn't a thing before since Windows 7. But it is also feels unfinished in Windows 11 as it lacks animation this time. Task View gain some addition of features like renaming of desktop, and ability to assign wallpaper for each desktop. Though new features like more powerful Windows Snap features are awesome and multi-monitor behaviour that it save state of windows if you disconnected a monitor and reconnect again. But no more auto-snapping of apps or they won't all open in full-scree/maximized by default. No more dedicated Tablet Mode UX in Windows 11, instead desktop will just resize UI elements for touch. No ability to move or resize Taskbar if you care about those things. Drag-and-Drop is coming for upcoming 22H2 update, but not on current production build. In Windows 11, Task Manager is only accessible on the Taskbar from Start button right-click menu. Taskbar is changed and some menus on the Taskbar isn't there anymore like Task Manager on every part of the Taskbar. Some things drastically changed like Start menu for example, and if you care about customization, Windows 11 is inferior to that as the new Start menu lacks certain features like app grouping, Jump List, Live Tiles or even notification badges, resizable Start menu, and ability to even full-screen it if you wish. ![]() Other than that, not much difference that I can tell from before.įeatures, well this is something you can only decide. In regard to gaming, not much difference but the DirectStorage would be a huge thing in the near future, so Windows 11 may be better in gaming in the near future. Though Windows 11 will be for sure optimized better for newer hardware and better security. Performance wise, nothing much in terms of obvious differences.
